We boiled 2 sacks last weekend. Total price w vegetables, sausage, & seasoning was right at $600.

$200+ worth of lemons, onions, sausage, garlic, celery, red taters, seasoning, soft drinks, etc.
Don't buy fixins from whole foods.
Seriously, 200 bucks for the extras for two sacks is absurd. I couldn't find stuff to get to that amount

I've gotten so damn cheap in my older age. I just can't make myself pay the higher prices right now. 20 years ago, I wouldn't have even have cared what the price was per lb.
my father would say congrats, you've grown up.

I usually don't but last weekend we had my late brother-in-law's widow come to N.O. from N. Georgia.
She and my wife went to Hogs For A Cause on Saturday and I boiled a sack of mudbugs on Sunday.
Yeah, it killed me to pay $3.25 a lb. for that 38 lb. sack, but we had fun and the crawfish were real nice size to boot.
I won't boil another sack until after Easter weekend when the price usually drops a bit.

~130 ish / sack, what am I missing????
Prices are not that low in N.O. yet. Paid $3.25 a lb. last Sunday for a 38 lb. sack and that came to right at $130 with tax.
Add in about $50 for the seasonings, both powdered and vegetables, beer, sodas, ice, propane, etc. and it's $180.
I too can't see how 2 sacks cost $600.

I am pretty sure I payed less than that for a 3 sack boil last weekend.
Sounds like I need to have a long talk with the "buddy" who made the run to get the crawfish. I never saw that receipt.
