My issue is why would I go to Cane's and have them tell me what kind of sauce I wan't? Why no options? I'd rather go somewhere where I can get my food the way I want it.

The Cane's sauce... everyone raves about the sauce. It would be nice if they gave you enough of it to actually be able to use it... but instead they hardly give you any at all, not even enough to dip your tenders into. One dip of a tender and its all gone. I usually go through it all before I am even halfway through my tenders and have no sauce left for the fries. And then they charge you $.30 for each extra unit of sauce. It's not even that great to warrant the .30 extra, because it really tastes like ketchup, mayo and pepper mixed together.
This x infinity.

They need some damned Cajun Fries.

Surely you're exaggerating.

Cane's does need to broaden the menu a bit...grilled chicken, new sauces, etc.
This is exactly what Zaxby's did. They are a similar chicken tender chain in the Southeast. They even have the whole "secret sauce", which is similar to Cane's. But they have diversified their menu a good bit and have different sauces, traditional hot wings, burgers, etc. Cane's could use some innovation.

I remember when they took out a finger and raised the prices. Some folks almost rioted.

Okay - youre choice. The issue isn't why should you go to Cane's is how are you underwhelmed? What are you expecting in the first place?
It's fast food that through the years has "sold out". Like everywhere else, costs have gone up and sizes/value has decreased.
If you're surprised, you're not paying attention.

I hope he is. I usually get two but barely use the second one. My stepdad who is severely over weight used to get a literal cup full of it which used to make me sick to watch him eat it. I couldn't even eat while he was.

Chick-fil-a > Canes > Zaxbys IMO

I agree. I'll eat it at 2 am if nothing else is open but that's it. My bf actually LIKES it. I think he's crazy.
I will give them props for the sweet tea and texas toast though just b/c I love sweet tea and texas toast.

The only reason I get extra sauce is to dip my bread in.

Anyone else underwhelmed by Raising Canes?
I am underwhelmed by every chicken finger chain I have ever eaten. It's not that they aren't good but they are all the same to me. An average, uniform, piece of chicken that isn't close to as good as one prepared at home. And that shouldn't make me underwhelmed, because it's fast food. But everybody raves about it like it's some kind of secret recipe.

That's kind of the point. Chicken fingers need to be fresh out of the fryer to be good. That's what you get at Canes and most of the other Chicken Finger only chains.

The fries are your standard regular crinkle cut fries I can get anywhere else
I disagree completely. They may have some of the worst fries in Fast Food.

They may not be overly generous with the sauce, but you're doing it wrong if it's gone after one chicken finger.

The place is average. Not seeing what is so great.
If you want chicken fingers they are slightly better than what you typically get at a burger joint, but anyone who says they're great must really love chicken fingers and bad fries.

Canes is better than Darrel's.

Toast and the sauce is the only thing i like.
Fries are meh and chicken is average

The chicken tenders are average and taste like your average chicken tender. Would be nice if they served them in different flavors such as BBQ or Buffalo, but its just the standard plain chicken tender that tastes like any random chicken tender I can get at a place like Dairy Queen.
The fries are your standard regular crinkle cut fries I can get anywhere else, and taste like your standard regular crinkle cut fries I can get anywhere else.
That's the genius of Canes. They made their menu simple, and that's it. If you don't like it, don't go; it isn't that hard to refrain. I think they're doing alright without your help too.

Guthries is the original chicken finger chain, but they apparently were happy staying small and other people like Zaxbys and Canes copied their formula and sauce.
