Athens (GA) restaurant recommendations needed

I'm taking the wife (no pics) to a jazz concert on campus this weekend for her birthday. I've never been and I need recommendations for a nice dinner location. Nothing that will break the bank. I'm thinking along the price point of a Ruth Chris. TIA

Tavernas are better than a steakhouse in Athens. Get one in Plaka with a rooftop view of the Parthenon.

There’s are great hole in the wall there called Toppers. The food isn’t bad, but the atmosphere is 10/10. Your wife will love it

We had a great meal at Hydra.
Edit: nevermind. Wrong Athens.

I think they are looking for Georgia, not Greece

I don't know Ruth's Chis prices but my wife and I's go-to for a date night in Athens without the kid is Seabear. Call to make reservations.
If you want a steakhouse experience downtown, you really have only one option, Porterhouse Grill. I can't vouch for it, but it's been around for decades downtown which is not something many restaurants can say.

Go to Last Resort.
If you like salmon, one of you get the salmon and grits.
Save room for dessert.
Its not as expensive as what you are looking for but it’s my favorite Athens restaurant

The National (might be my favorite restaurant in GA.)
Last Resort
Seabear
Slaters
5&10
I haven’t had a chance to check out Puma Yu’s yet but it was nominated for a James Beard this year.

Seabear. Call to make reservations.
OP, if you're wanting something near campus;
1. The National
2. Seabear
3. Chuck's Fish
4. Porterhouse
