eating a pork & greens sandwich right now. it's solid, but i think there's a lot of potential there. anyone had a good one of this variety?

more details? what kind of pork and greens? bread?
Posted on 3/11/09 at 11:00 am to el tigre
It's a roasted pork loin with some type of spicy rub-crust on the outside, I watched them slice it. The bread is a soft hoagie type bread. The greens are broccoli rabe. And it's got provolone cheese.

One of the best sandwiches I've ever had was at Herbsaint (on St. Charles in the CBD). It was salmon on olive loaf bread with lots of other stuff including a wonderful spread, possibly ailoi. It was decadent and just outstanding.
I may call over there to get more details. It was a daily special, so I don't know if it's available regularly.
ETA: I just checked the menu online, and it's not a daily special but on the regular lunch menu:
"GRILLED SALMON SANDWICH ON OLIVE BREAD WITH LEMON PICKLE AIOLI"
If you like salmon, you've GOT to try this sandwich! It's damn good!

where in jersey? out towards rutgers? No love for the fat sandwich trucks near Rutgers and Penn State late at night? Some people up there swear by that shite.

My husband's chop sammich....
He smokes some chicken and grills some green onion sausage. Then chops them all up and adds some of his famous BBQ sauce and then he puts it on some incredible french bread from Hi-Do and then piles it with Blue Cheese cole slaw!

i grew up 10 minutes from rutgers. the grease trucks are awesome at 2 in the morning when you're drunk, other than that i would steer clear.

Domelise's Shrimp po-boy is hard to beat.
Olde Tyme Grocery in Lafayette used to make a mean roas beef po-boy.
A reuben or corned beef from katz, may top them all.
