The colors are a glaze same as the BGE, Primo. Baked on at 1800 degrees. The finish should last just as long as that Tulane colored BGE.

I can get you to the Kamado Joe main web site but you will not find the Purple and Gold units on because we had Kamado Joe custom make it for Us here in South La. Not part of the normal offering. Here is the link to the main site. All specs are the same except for the colors.

It comes that way from the factory. The guy from KJ told us that the TX distributor is going to carry Texas Longhorns orange Smokers and the LA distributor is selling purple/gold, and red. He said that these are custom colors. I believe the red is the standard. I got the purple and gold from an ace hardware store in River Ridge. I went online to their web site kamadojoe.com and had most of my questions answered. Do yalls own research and see if ones better that the other. Thay all sound like good products. Smoke it up!!
