Wasn't next to Albertsons. Was located next to where CitiFinancial is. Houses another restaurant now, then moved to other side of building facing Steinmart. I still like their pizza but usually pretty dead at Jefferson location. Lots of pizza places in BR now.

I wonder why they aren't doing as well as they once were? 10-15 years ago they were growing and very popular. I wonder how much longer the one on Coursey will last.

Because they were trying to franchise something that lots of other restaurants were already doing at that time, which was basically copying Olive Garden. The DeAngelo's name offered little value outside of Baton Rouge. Outside of Louisiana, DeAngelo's was just another pizza/Italian restaurant, nothing special. I expect in about 10-15 years Walk-Ons will have a similar fate.

Found this article that says they outgrew the location and is looking for a location more conductive to banquets and room rentals. LINK

Duh. I didn't mean literally. I'm pointing out general location to people that don't obviously don't even know the basic location.

Coursey's all but done too .. There's like 6 cars in the parking lot at 7PM on Fridays .. It just got way too expensive for what you were getting ..

I was just saying yesterday how much I love their salads but they're so expensive.

The one in central is doing well (same owner?), I believe. Think that's probably due to lack of choices.

It's been that way for years. Although we just went on Friday and it was pretty full. They do have the best sensation salad in town.

Worked there immediately after Katrina. They needed help to keep up with the rush. Must have been one of the few places back open so soon or something.

It's like 13-15 bucks for a salad.

No thanks.

Yeah, when the one by Winn-Dixie on Burbank was still a Louis D'Angelo's, I ordered a salad to go because I worked at LSU. Their menu didn't have prices and the salad I ordered didn't have meat in it... I remember being floored when it was like $15 after-tax

Hey Paul Allen,

let's be fair here.......

Not specifically defending D'los pricing, but how often do you eat anywhere other than Hooters??

A few examples of local salad prices for your information:

Serranos, $11-$14

Parrains $11-$14

Monjunis $10-$14

Mestizos $12-$14

Mansurs $13-$16

A few examples of what salad prices are like all over the city for full service restaurants taken directly from their menus. Produce has gone through the roof for years now, and there is a hell of a lot more in an entrée salad than lettuce.

Stick to your iceberg with shredded bag carrots and pre-made ranch if you think those salad prices are out of line.

To be fair, I'm looking at the menu now and it isn't really much higher than elsewhere (except Dempseys next door serves their meatless salad for $7 instead of $10, but I know Demp is cheaper than most).

I specifically remember it being $15 after tax for me to have a meatless salad there years ago when it was on Burbank.. so maybe they lowered the prices

I went to the one in Central a few months ago with my grandmother and they had a lunch menu that was really a good deal. Salad and pasta for not much money.
Since I now work near the one on Coursey, I've looked for that lunch menu online and no dice. I don't know if that means they don't have it or if they just don't have it posted online. I won't find out, though, because I can't order to-go without the menu.

LA LADY,

A quick look at their menu and the most expensive salad (w/o a protein) is $9.95...so your $15 with tax is a bit of an exaggeration.
Now if you left a nice tip, I could see it going to $15...and cheers to you for tipping on a To-Go if that's the case.

I am not exaggerating. I specifically remember because it is the reason I never went back That said, the salad was very good. I love that they chop everything (or used to).

I've worked in the service industry for years. Of course I tipped well.

I worked at the location that is closing briefly after Katrina. It was a shite show with the lines out of the door everynight. Some good folks worked at that location. 'Twas a good time.

I said the lunch special menu.

I don't want to go with those type of prices. Not for a takeout lunch on a random weekday, ya know? The lunch menu had smaller servings of pastas with a salad for much cheaper. But I have yet to see it online.
