I'm in agreement with you on most points, but "stupid" for some is not the same as for others, so to say it is stupid is just an opinion.

If we talk long enough we will learn of "stupid" things you (or I) do with our money.

True, I feel that it would be a stupid thing to do with your money. And hell, I typically tip on to go orders

Not really. It just proves who has a me-me-me mentality. Probably the same people who think he should pay an absurd amount of taxes too because it's "his fair share."

It's bullshite is what it is.

He should go back and change the tip to $6 only if the girl gives half of it to the bum sitting under the nearby bridge. So she can know how it feels to have half of your hard earned money taken...

It doesn't prove anything.

The sense of entitlement is definitely there, here's proof:

That's not a sense of entitlement. It's a common fricking courtesy. If I see some young kid working in a lower service industry position (waitress, take out girl, bag boy etc.), aptly preforming their duty than I feel inclined to give them a tip. If I get a to go order for myself I will tip a buck or two. It doesn't hurt me any and it might help them. If I picked up an order for 10 people I would tip more than that. Do I think the take out girl is owed that money? No, I don't. I give it to them because I want to. It has nothing to do with entitlement. And if it makes me a "bottom feeder" as some dumb frick suggests than so be it. I think it has more to due with the fact of me once being a broke arse kid.

For the record this girl is a complete moron for posting the receipt for the world to see. She should be fired and hopefully she was.

All I'm saying is that its ok for random acts of kindness when you make $25MM a year. That being said, the chick shouldnt have ratted him.

and i doubt every tip is exactly in line with this one... in fact id bet money he probably does toss out a lot of random acts of kindness with his money. doesnt mean he should be required to be over the top generous with his checkbook with every person he encounters.

Is it? $3 for a to go is plenty, why does there need to be more?

It's also common courtesy to not try to publicly shame someone for a "low" tip, when it was a to go order.

I never once said no tip was warranted, so this wall of text was pointless.

It is. Especially this angry lunchbox character who thinks I'm a waiter.

Apparently Balls is ok with being a bottom feeder but don't you dare call him a waiter!

It's amazing that one of the biggest philanthropists in the NFL is being judged for not giving a "good enough" tip on a to-go order.

Again, I do it as well and I never said if you do it you are a bottom-feeder. Reading comprehension classes will help.

I never said you were a waiter. You just demonstrate the entitlement of the profession.

You really should learn to read. I never said no tip, but keep going.

I can't stand when waitresses cry about how hard their job is and how everyone should have to wait tables for a week. Last time I checked there's not a mandatory draft for waitresses, and it's not like you invested 4 years at a university for the job. So if it's as terrible as they claim, why the hell are they still waiting tables?

Here are your words:

"You can really tell who the bottom-feeders are in threads like these."

The initial responsibility for comprehension is on the one offering the statement. Reading comprehension classes won't help us if you can't communicate clearly.
