Louis is a great guy, and always treated his workers great in my visits. I remember when it was hard on him to cover paying the one or two gals to work the counter and phone in his original joint at Hammond Aire.

Boy oh boy you couldn't be more wrong. I quit in a peaceful manner because I found a job in my trained profession. I loved my managers and coworkers. I didn't like the job. I'm not resentful of that place at all, in fact sometimes I miss the people I worked with. But that doesn't change the fact that their food is not worth the pricing and they have lowered their standards.

I agree with you FWIW. If a company is ashamed of the way they are actually run behind closed doors, they should change it up.. not expect employees to just keep it a secret.

FWIW, I have no issue with DeAngelos. I have only been a handful of times but it's okay. I do think it's overpriced though and I don't care if my own dad owned it.. I think it's overpriced.

You have said nice things about the owner and employees. You don't owe them anything more. You are not indebted to lie for them.

I just think it's dick for disgruntled employees to blab company info for the world to see.

I think if someone is ashamed of something they do, they shouldn't do it. Not rely on others to keep it a secret.

FWIW I know the family. Met his Uncles/Aunt when they 1st moved from NJ, way before they started in the Restaurant bizz. Did the electrical/lighting design for his 1st couple new stores........really good people.

Central needs the dining option for sure, regardless of everything discussed in this thread. I just hate that Cafe' Roux is no longer an option.

I agree with this. I never met any of the management that I didn't like. Louis came in a few times and met everyone and even helped us out in a rush once while he was in, just threw on a chef's coat and did expo while the KM helped everyone else.

Storys is huge poboys on good bread, curly fries are real potatoes and get a slice or a whole pie while you are there. Also homemade biscuits for breakfast.

They're opening in Cafe Roux's building? That sucks.

Well, I went to drink a few Beers with Rick at Cafe Roux Friday eve and order my last Ham, RB & Swiss po-boy from there. It was their last night open and bummed out regulars were piling in to say goodbye. They made him an offer too good to pass up........

RIP Cafe Roux, its been a good 13 years.......

Rick was ready to get out of the restaurant business...What Central really needed was a small quiet Italian restaurant....There is really no place to take a date or celebrate a special day in central....a nice quiet romantic restaurant is needed.
Now that Mike Anderson is finished with his divorce and remarried are they going to open up in Central?
