Was Union behind Rock and Bowl? Tiny little restaurant, maybe 10 tables, and the owner had her little Mary table shrine? Is that the place?

You are thinking of Garce's...a block away from Union actually....I ate there a few times at Jesuit before....very good Cubans. They did not re-open there after Katrina...however, they had a place on Williams for a while, but that is no longer as well.

The best cuban now is either Liborio's, Union or the place on the westbank with oxtail soup. I am blanking on the name yet again.

ETA: Christy's Po Boys...It's at 1102 Stumpf Blvd., across the expressway from Home Depot, near the fabric store.
