Red beans in the slow cooker right now..

red beans and fried pork chops tonight.

Soaked on the counter a few hours, then in the fridge overnight after I added veggies and andouille

Next question: Did you change out the water or cook with the residual water from the soaking???? Heard plenty of discussion on the explosive issue before...

i dont soak mine anymore, just cook in the crock pot.

if you would soak, and change out soakwater, would seriously help with ozone layer issues..

no but i dont actually soak them. i just clean then and throw them in a crock pot for at least 8 hours on low.
