Disclaimer: from blog called pioneer woman, take my man card, but enjoy the food. It is definitely heavy, have a salad with it.

Recipes like that keep me far away from her blog.

Because it was decent for what it was. I've never tried an authentic Italian dish, don't cook that often anyway.

I wouldn't call the recipe "alfredo", but it's not a bad recipe. I don't love chicken, but it's butter, wine, garlic, pasta, chicken, parm and a little cream. Simple homecooked meal for someone with little time and a family to feed.

I like her blog. I don't like all of her recipes, but I've gotten some very good ideas from there. I love the Italian roast Chicago style. Also love the crash hot potatoes. It a good source for family meals particularly when you're feeding children.

I've come to appreciate many recipes or dishes that I would have scorned pre-children. Sometimes you just need quick easy stuff that, most importantly, they will actually eat. I find they're not really interested in authenticity.

No question and all of those ingredients are good ingredients. It didn't include a can of cream of soup. Chicken, wine, butter, garlic, parm, cream...over pasta. What's not to like?

So I just made the pasta sauce as described in Cool's link...damn it is good. That is a pasta side that will be hard to beat. The pasta water, with a great Parm O cheese and good butter, is a helluva combination.

Sure is Otis. Damn fine little pasta course by itself as well.
