There was a sign on that Perkins/Acadian corner indicating that some bank was going to be built there (northwest corner of intersection). Just saw it last week.

I've eaten there a few times. The food was always great and had it not been so for out then I'd have had eaten there more often.

You made me laugh, and choke, and tear up with those words. Thanks for the chuckle!!!

Dickie Brennan is apparently still in negotiations with Wampold for some type of upscale place at Swaggarts old building. They retrofitted the structure in order to move plumbing chases that were set up for dorm rooms. They also extended the structure out about five feet at each balcony and floor to create larger spaces and rooms. A large addition will have ballrooms and a large lobby. It'll be a nice facility.
Commercial Properties and Baton Rouge Area Foundation put that Acadian development on hold when Cam Morton stepped down and then the economy slowed. It's a good chunk and will get developed by them sooner or later. When he left they lost a ton of vision.
And FWIW I did Galatoire's a bunch. Sorry to see it go but something else will go in there. It's a nice facility. Ruffinos has that area locked up right now. I don't see a lot of action at LaCreole either. French Market has it's followers.
