CAfeteria food these days is a sub-operation of the USDA and the abri-businesses of America, and now of the Mooses White House.

Never heard of "bags of milk" before, when was this implemented? HS grad of '67, fwiw.
cheap way of milk. white and coco milk was in bags. just the skim milk was in the box.
looked like this..you would take the yellow straw and just poke it in and drink....or if you was a guy you would just bite it like a vampire and suck the milk right out..
and when you finish, you would blow the bag up
i remember back in elem school, my cafeteria used to make homemade doughnuts....i went to school at St Gerard in North BR, so we had krispy kreme walking distance from campus...but these doughnuts would kick KK's azz.

I was surprised yesterday to see that milk still comes in a carboard box. I am also fortunate that my kids go to a Catholic School and most of their food is cooked. They still have chicken stew, chicken and sausage gumbo and things like that. Over the summer the Cafeteria mnager died and the new lady isn't quite as good as the old one but it's still decent for cafeteria food.
The one thing I miss from the cafeteria that they don't do any longer is peanut butter squares.
