The main difference for afficianados is that they can actually taste the different regions where scotch is produced when drinking single malts. When blending, you remove some of the history from the taste.
That doesn't matter to me, as i'm not an afficianado, but just enjot a great tasting scotch.
Exactly. I don't give a rat's arse if it's blend or single malt - I just want it to taste good.

It's really good stuff, but not nearly worth the pricetag IMO.

blends get a bad wrap because of all of the bad blends on the market. A quality blend can be as good or even better than a quality single malt.

Hey Santa Clara, you ever eat at Duarte's in Pescadero? The drive from Los Gatos to there is one of the most amazing in the area. Cream of green chilli soup...OMG. They had a $75 abalone sandwich the few times we went. There's a redwood grove on the way down the mountain that is in my top ten favorite places on this planet. Just so damn dreamy.
I haven't yet but the way you described it, I might have to now. Thanks for the link.

I have had it before and its great. But a good bottle of GL,GF, or McAllen Single Malt will beat it IMO. Highland is another good one if you like the smokey charcoal taste.
