I was scrolling through Aaron's Instagram last night. It looks like they are going to have a chef's table in there. I need some info on that!

IKR? No way I could only eat two tacos.

Between pork belly, the lamb, the sweetbreads, etc.

AHHHH.

Eh. Another place trying to reinvent the wheel. A la MoPho. I'm sure you'll love it.

I'd rather see if they can do simple things well first before diving into the "creative" stuff.

The fish preparations look outstanding. Excited to try this place. Post pics of the line.

You would rather see if 2 famous chefs, one of whom who has numerous successful restaurants across the city, can do simple stuff first?

Wait, do you think this place is stupid for trying to reinvent the wheel or are you excited to try this place? Keep up the good fight!!!

The 3 listed tacos aren't the entire menu and I didn't say that was the only thing I was going to try. You know I live in New Orleans and can visit this place fairly frequently. It's not exactly expensive.

Yes. Any time I try a new Vietnamese restaurant I always get the pho on the first visit. Any time I try a new Tex-Mex joint the chicken enchiladas are my first order. If I'm hitting a Thai place for the first time I judge off initially off the tom yum soup and their curry.

Surely I'm not the only person like that.

All well and good. You're just a sucker for running out to any place that throws pork belly on the menu. As long as you can admit that we're all good pal!

Wasn't that one of the places you cited as lacking in BR in the "Criticisms of BR food scene" thread? But now it's implied to be a bad thing?

Im not like that. I try the things I cant get anywhere else or something that is not offered often. Why get the things that you could try anywhere?

If they offer something different than the rest of the places around town, thats what Im trying.

ah I see what you're saying, but it came across as you were questioning if the restaurant could pull off their creativity without first mastering the basics

and I think I have my dinner choice figured out…but shite dat cocktail menu is fire too…

Any good ones out in Jackson?

No one said it's not a viable way to proceed. However, your dismissive attitude to a different option was certainly unnecessary. It's also not representative of the availibility of this restaurant. It's cheap enough to try a few times over the course of 3 months.

Because I know I'll eventually return and have at least half the menu in due time. I didn't say I go to Paris and order nothing but staples. I live in the town where this place is opening. I can go back any time I want; therefore I like on first try to see how they do their cuisines' signature or classic dishes.

If I was visiting from Baton Rouge I'd do the same as well.
