I'll help you out.

On your rebound, get a cooler. Stop at Rabideauxs (Exit 44 and just about 1/2 mile south) and load up on smoked sausage and andouille and tasso. There was construction on the Exit so unsure if it's reopened.

Then, when you get to Exit 97, go to Kartchners (just north of I-10) or Billy's (just south of I-10) and get smoked boudin, jalapeño boudin balls, crab pies, etc.

There's also a Fezzo's at Exit 97.

These sound awesome but can you eat at these places or do you have to get it to go?

Fezzos in Scott or Crowley is a restaurant but Billy’s (**) & krapturs are buy and go. 165 exit east is open to traffic, don’t pay attention headed west.
Honestly think market basket sausage is way better.

Technically, yes. But to clarify, I was only suggesting you stock up on some great products. IMO, there are better dining options in Laffy. That said, the boudin balls at Kartchners are a great grab-n-go.

There are probably ten better burgers in Lafayette than Judice Inn.

I'm really interested to see what 10 you would recommend

This. I'm down there just about every summer for the state little league tournament and I discovered this place on accident and we get it every trip down there now.

The fried shrimp and oyster poboys are perfection. Keep it simple stupid is the rule here. They don't load it up w/ all kind of sauces and add ons, the breading and seafood is fried perfectly. Langlinais french bread is hollowed out to it from being a bread bomb.

now the other poboys are just regular lunch meat so I get that they are not any better than anywhere else, but the seafood poboys are top notch !

Their meatball poboy is the best I've ever had.

Petes

Absolute trash, not the Pete's from 80s-90s, frozen junk.

Fat Pats

Not bad

Hub City Diner

Not bad either

Broaddus

Zero flavor, there's a reason one just closed.

JB Snubs

Very good

Ground Patti

Flavorless, not the Ground Patti from days of old

Legends

Never got the love for this place, a premade patti cooked on a George Foreman grill.

Charley G's has a very good one. Max's and Gary's are pretty good, but the Green Oaks Lounge is better.

Judice Inn is one of a kind though.

Olde Tyme does an excellent fried seafood platter on Fridays. Like you said, breaded and fried to perfection.

And they serve actual catfish. Not that Swaii shite that way to many places that market as local (cough…Uncle T’s) serves to their customers.

Not even the best in the 70592. I'd take Crawfish Boss burgers over Morvants all day. Before they shutdown I'd have Twins over Morvants as well in Youngsville.
