I was so sorry to hear that Mrs. Poche died during Covid.

Yes, that was very sad. She would handle my pricing as I got some Poche's pork products to import into Abu Dhabi in some of the pork rooms at a certain supermarket chain that carries pork for us Westerners. I also brought in Savoie's pork products at the same time.

Not a possibility since OP is passing through LAF on Monday and L2's is closed on that day. The food is definitely legit !

Legit

Sure is. But be prepared to not be able to get a table due to being too crowded. I’ve had some friends coming through town with the same request for a good lunch near I-10, and had to eat next door at Julian’s Poboys instead. Not a bad plan B, but we really wanted those stuffed turkey wings at L2.
We used to meet at Chris’ on Moss street, but they wound up closing.

bump since the OP should be rolling into LAF soon .... unless an 18-wheeler heading W on the Basin bridge caught on fire sounds crazy but it seems to happen once a week.

keep us posted brother

Poppy,

I agree on both, David has some good rabbit and Racheal's has great plate lunches and a sneaky great seafood gumbo.

Had both during my holiday visit to Lafayette! They were on my things to eat list

Rachael's is good, but $16 for a bowl of chicken and sausage gumbo is a bit much.
