Amazing bubble we live in where people actually think not eating from 8 at night until noon the next day is a hardship.

honestly if you are used to eating all the time, it can be hard at first. Especially if you don't have much going on. Hell even with me being experienced with it, it can be hard at times. I am really slow at work this week and I have been posting on here a ton and reading/watching a bunch of stuff trying to keep my mind off of it. Naps help a ton too if you can get away with it.

coffee seems to help ton and so does caffeine/ephedra together. Just realize in the fasted state the effects tend to be amplified big time so take it easy even if you are used to drinking coffee.

I assume you are doing the Greyskull LP by the description. You are getting a headache due to the pressure build up. Johnny has talked about in the podcast shutting the set down at 8 similar to how he programs deadlifts. Main thing is you have to learn to stop between reps and take a few breathes.

Yep...I'll be honest (and happily take my shaming) I haven't read up on the program much other than to see the layout of what needs to be done. Monday when I had that issue I was at 12 on my squat reps before I finally shut it down. I had another 2 in me for sure, but I could tell it may not be safe to keep going.

I actually just got my 1.25 pound weights in yesterday (mind you, it's actually washers I ordered through a reddit link) but I weighed them out last night to 1.27 and 1.28 pounds on each set of washers (2 of them = 1.25 so I have 4 total).

My squats are still very low, I think yesterday was 165. when I was doing my Strong Lifts I had worked up to a working set of 230. I think for now I just have to be more mindful of my breathing. Standing there with that much weight on your back trying to catch your breath and then turn right back around and hold it, when you haven't caught it, is a fun game of "will the power rack supports actually catch me if I pass out"

haha yea understood. yea just keep going as you are. at that weight you have a lot of linear increases left to go. In the book johnny says to cut the set off at ten on squats but did go into more detail in one of the podcast.

I have spoken to him at length many times on the phone and through email and we discussed it some and his approach was always don't fry your CNS just to try and push one more rep. The main focus should be improving strength over time which will bring the lean muscle gains over time also. He was very level headed about it and essentially said don't over think it, when it starts to hurt and you have met the goal, shut it down.

Oh, I agree. What I'm getting at is that it is a sad commentary that it is hard for us.

Yeah. Protein whey smoothies are my saving grace.

I fasted for 14 days once. I drank water and had one 8 oz protein shake thing and one 6 oz. carton of orange juice every day.

It wasn't for weight loss.

Days 4-10 were the hardest.

Not sure why I reacted the way I did to your post. I did a 16 hour fast yesterday also. I just suck at math apparently.

36 hour max. No need to do that though. If you need to eat at maintenance for a week or two then start lowering cals again. but honestly if you are in a deficit and meeting your macro goals you should be good.

Some of us have been up for 9-10 hours at that point. Not everyone sleeps until dawn.

I'm usually up at 4, 4:30
#Gainz time is usually between 5-7am
By noon, I could chew on my desk and be happy. But that'd mean breaking my fast. So....I don't.

I run 8 operating rooms so I keep myself occupied while fasting. I'm going to keep this up for a few weeks!

I do find it hard at times to meet macros, but I just need to eat more steaks and chicken and drink more.

Fasting on weekends may be harder with the wife and 3 kids.

How much walking do you all get (or recommend getting) in the morning while IF? I keep seeing that's the best way to get everything started. Just wondering how long I should be getting after it each morning.

I've been getting at least one brisk 20 min walk in at the very end when I'm the most hungry.

It curbs my appetite really well, and gives me a shot of endorphins it feels like.
