Might have to do a thread about my clones.
Or I'll just stick it in here later for the #Gainz crew.
Y'all appreciate good wings.

This is my knock off of Blue Oak. Since they're closed while the new joint is being set up, it's helping with my addiction to the GOAT wings.
I leave them in a brine of cayenne, garlic powder, and salt for 24 hrs. It's a good bit of cayenne. Then I let'em go for about 4-5 hours at 190°
I drop the flats and drums in the oil separately:
I've been using a sauce that's just Crystal with a bunch of Tabasco added to it:
They aren't Blue Oak, but they cure the withdrawal symptoms of their temporary closure until the new location has us #Gainz'n again the way God intended:
We miss you Blue Oak. Hurry up and open baws.
#Gainz

You're eating fried wings??
Posted on 4/14/16 at 9:39 am to BRgetthenet
Is that an electric smoke box you got there? What is that pan on the shelf below the wings that looks like it has gravy in it?

I need to try brining my wings.
I like to grill mine, then sauce them, then throw them back on the grill all sauced up for a few minutes.

It's a masterbuilt that I use the A-Maze-N pellet smoke tube with. The element won't get the smoke going below 200°, so I had to get one of these.
The pan is a drip pan. I put water in it for moisture while the smoke is permeating. It also shields the smoke tube, which is directly underneath on another rack, from anything that drips off the wings.
They're fried, yeah, but I don't bread them. Very few carbs, I believe.

On the gainz front, just finished the 8th week of Phraks Greyskull LP. Maintained the progression. Only failed to get 5 reps this week on OHP. May look into a different program or continue this for a few more weeks until my other lifts stop progressing.
Most impressive part of the progressions are the Chins. You went from doing 5 at bw to doing 5 at bw+27.5 lbs.
I understand why you would want to switch programs but honestly if you can still make gains with the lp keep doing it. Its working for you as you were able to do that while cutting. Ride that bitch til you can't squeeze another drop out then go onto 5/3/1 or mad cow.
If you wanted to go more bodybuilding something like beyond bigger leaner stronger or scott stevensons fortitude training would be awesome for you. Also Layne nortons orginal Phat of PH3 program would also be great. What ever you decide keep pushing and stay healthy.

you make that spreadsheet to track, or did you find it somewhere? It looks easy enough to duplicate, I'm just kinda lazy.
The one I'm using has Chins every workout and curls every other workout. I feel like Chins every workout is a bit too much and want to add back in some rows. The curls are okay, I'll probably leave them alone because I like to look at myself in the mirror doing them

here's a link to download . I use it with google sheets so I can pull up and update while at gym

awesome thanks, yeah I'm doing mine the exact same way. I also like the warmup better in yours. The one I'm doing has a 5-4-3-2 warmup which takes a long time with dumb plate combos and what not.

quote:one thing to note about warmups...on the excel download link I provided, it's shown as I found it, with 2 warmup sets at 70% working weight. On my google sheets image, you'll see I modded that to 70% and 80% for the 2 sets.

In addition to shrugs/curls, I added calf raises on squat days and tricep work on bench days.

I was thinking of adding calves to each workout, but I may just go with your plan. I really, really don't miss squatting 5x5 3 days a week. Don't get me wrong, I still love squats, but that was just too much.

Leg day is the only day I skip calves, and the off day I have on the weekends
I'm worn TFO too much to do them when I do legs. I've still been doing abs on leg day though

I did a calf tabata(20 seconds all out intensity/10 seconds rest repeated eight times) on the leg press Monday morning and can still barely walk.

speaking of calves...here's a dumb question for you guys:
my gym has a little seated calf raise contraption...throw on whatever plates you want, lift up and remove the lever and go...when I'm doing these and bring my calves up I almost immediately get a cramp in my right leg. The weight doesn't seem too much, but I don't feel like I can get a full range of motion due to the sudden cramping. Is that simply too much weight causing that, ya think?
