pinettas is awesome for that setting and its good
I definitely want to visit Pinetta's some time soon, but I wanted to do something just a tad more 'upscale' for this particular meal.

I may be in the minority on this, but I think Pinettas is severely overrated. The red sauce is extremely spicy
My pick would be Gino's. They usually have someone playing the piano too

you've obviously never tried their red sauce

Ginos by far the best.
you're entitled to that opinion but it's incorrect

At Gino's, I like the crabmeat in angel hair pasta along with the seafood cannelloni.
And the Lawrence bread is usually on point.
Sometimes I find that their dishes with red sauce like the lasagna or parmigiana taste average.

the wine list was very underwhelming imo
Gino's usually has a very nice wine list for their menu. Is this what people say when they want to sound like they know what they're talking about?

Never mind.

While both Little Village and Ruffino's have their weaknesses, I think they have the best red sauces in BR.

We were there Saturday and the service and food were both excellent.

Monjuni's or Gino's (just for the Lawrence bread)

Having zero confidence will ensure you have zero chance with the menage a 3.
And before anyone says bring it to the OT, I am talking about dessert.
