Are the biscuits as fabulous as alleged here on the OT?
I was with friends last week in Jackson, Miss who wanted to go and the only reason I agreed was because I had never been and heard about these biscuits. The biscuits were meh and the fried shrimp was . I will not be eating there again. It was awful and I can't believe people from LA eat there.

I just don't get it.. We live in South Fricken Louisiana and people line up to go eat at a shitty chain seafood joint.

How many of the local restaurants serve lobster?

Oversaturation would kill a place like Red Lobster IMO. And the only reason it's doing well (if that's true) right now is because we've always had ads for it, there's just never been one in BR.

Darden restaurants (Olive Garden and Red Lobster are owned by the same people) are notorious for advertising nationally so when they enter new markets, people are already familiar with the brand.

I'd say the reason that Red Lobster is doing so well in BR is

1. Marketing
2. Not that many places serve Lobster in BR and if they do it will cost you a fortune
3. Old people and lower middle class people usually love places like this

they're horrible, and I'm not being a anti red lobster snob either.

I figured the one by the mall would do well because it's by the mall.

Seriously I have no intentions of going there but I can see why some people do

Where in BR can you get lobster? And the type of people that frequent chain places probably don't have the money to go to places like Juban's or Mansur's for Lobster. I don't know why people act surprised.

Doesn't Ruth's Chris and Fleming's sell lobster tails?

And I will if RL does that. I like that Chick Fil A has healthier fast food options and it would make a killing since it's not too far from campus. I passed by it last week and there's a sign out there that says it's going to be a Chick Fil A.

I've never heard of someone just being able to take over a place that already has the name...

BTW the Reveille sucks and they have done quite a few RETRACTIONS since I've been here. They are usually not reliable about the information they publish and the writers are all a bunch of wannabee liberal hipsters who couldn't get into liberal arts schools. /endrant

Gotta love Baton Rouge culture when it comes to Red Lobster. Big Cities chest thumping, small time redneck crossroads reality. It's a bad joke. And I've been here for 18 years so don't call me a poopyhead or anything.

The funny thing is that lobster up north is ridiculously cheap...they make lobster rolls out of them and don't treat them like a delicacy like Southerners do.

FWIW I find lobster to be a bit rubbery...really good/well-made crawfish is better.

They have this thing called the lobster martini roll at a sushi place in Houma and it's not too pricy

And lobster in the northeast is barely seasoned...usually they just dip it in straight up butter. I'd want Tony's or some sort of heat/seasoning .

I am going to go out on a limb and call BS. CF wither has a lease or ownership of the land. If leased, then the lessor would be in a major financial shite storm for reneging on the agreement, and spend several years in court. As to the later poster that was all gaga about the Lobster. If you live in south Louisiana and go to one of the Mickey D's of seafood, then there is more culture in the yogurt container in your fridge than in you.
