Read where they are cancelling the 2025 event and will possibly focus on 2026 to re-invent/re-brand it. It was great the first couple of years it moved to Metairie. Then it turned to shite.

Doesn’t surprise me. Went last year and it was awful. Line to get in was crazy long and inefficient. We even had early entry tickets (which it seemed most also had).
Most vendors were out of food within the first hour. There were far less vendors than in previous years. The costs to participate had gotten outrageous per some of the vendors that chose to not participate.
There was also allegedly some frickery in the judging which pissed off a few former participants.

Organizers say ongoing market conditions and a significant shift in industry sponsorship priorities have made it difficult to put on Top Taco successfully. So, they made the difficult decision to pause the event.

“Festivals and events around the country are folding due to dwindling ticket sales and reduced sponsorship,” said Shane Finkelstein, founder of Top Taco and Yeah You Right Events. “Rather than scale back or oversell the event, we’ve chosen neither. I didn’t get into festival production to disappoint people. I have high standards for our events, and if those can’t be met, I believe it’s best to take a step back and reevaluate.”
