yeah, h.s. students hate trendy places, they would rather go to dirtyspoons. That is why the big stores in the mall are packed and the trendy spots never have teenagers in them.

This is all I have ever argued (combined with BR's proximity to some of the world's best seafood) on this board though some like to twist my words.

All those who personally attack me or insert a crime discussion on a FOOD board as a way of bashing New Orleans...go look at my posts...you will find that this has been my argument all along.

Since TJ Moran has brought Burke back to BR, I'd like to see TJ Ribs go back and reperfect their staple dishes, scrap much of their tired dated menu, and expand it out and upward into some elevated forms.

On another note, had some Voodoo Gris Gris Greens, Twice Baked Potato Salad, Rattlesnake Beans, Mac & Cheese, to accessorize tonight's chicken at the house.

Voodoo's sides are solid...mac and cheese and gris gris greens are my two favorites.

Sir, I don't understand why you would bring this up again, what are you trying to say?

Lafayette has a ton of chains and they're all rocking every night of the week.
They do have good places to eat (I used to work at Charley G's), but they same meal served there can be found at Mansur's or Juban's.

glad to see TA and Paul Allen are buddies

We are ushering in a new error of peace and harmony.

NOLA (actually metairie) used to have Charley G's...it was great when I was little, but then began to decline and then closed suddenly. I had good meals there when I was a kid.

I'd always see it, but never ate there. They'd talk about it when I worked there and they'd always talk about the poor quality of food they served.

Paul Allen is actually a really funny guy

When they first opened it was good...but I even noticed it was getting bad as a kid.

Lafayette places coming this way have not worked too well...I suspect its due to the quality because I have eaten at the originals and they were good...Mulate's (I ate at the original once a long time ago), Don's, and Charley G's.

I wish they would put the quality in it. Don's and Charley G;s would be great here.

I've never liked Mulates- original and definitly not the one in NO. I do like the restaurant itself, but not the food.

not a fan.

I havent been back in a couple of years. I hear they have a woman chef, which is cool because when I was there...it was pretty bad...I loved working there, Mr Charlie is a great person, but I was really young and it was one of my first jobs in the kitchen, so I was subject to some pretty strong advances.

They'd alwasy get the best quaility fish. You need to try their duck and andouille gumbo. It's some powerful stuff.

Yep, the food's always been awful at every Mulates.

I really don't get it, either. It's like so bad, they're trying to make it horrible.

I've only been once. I liked it alright, but the chef (at the time when I lived/worked in Lafayette) was a total d-bag, so I couldnt bring myself to go back.
