What's going on is that the Lafayette Market is saturated with mediocre restaurants charging way too much for the quality of food on the plate! That Kaliste Saloom corridor is littered with mediocre restaurants including that flagship Mexican restaurant!

But I love Marcelos and Masala Kitchen. I would drive from BR just to eat at those places!!

I had never been. Call me old and set in my ways, but when I’m able to be in Lafayette and enjoy food, I like sticking to my personal long time reliables:
Olde Tyme
Riverside Inn
Poseidon’s
Pizza Village
Deano’s
Chris’s
Max’s
Hot Food Express
Laura’s

Scafani's group just closed Portobellos on Jefferson in BR and turned it into a catering location. So Lou BR is just down the street from me and I do not even think of going there. It's just not good.

This is the problem. Everything they put out is mediocre and overpriced IMO.
