Back in the day when he was Charles Bronson, he called me a pathetic poster. Guess he was right afterall.

Um no. Try Mosca's. Much more relevant than Impastato's in history and is certainly much more of an essential place.

Mosca's version of Creole Italian is not the version I think is good. I think of it as Midwestern Creole Italian.

With shrimp, oysters and crab beimg essential to Midwestern cooking. Impastato's isn't close to being an essential restaurant. It is very good I will give you that.

The liberal use of breadcrumbs in seemingly every dish is very Midwestern and very unlike true Creole Italian cuisine. The Impastato family is a vanguard in forming Creole Italian cuisine, much more so than the Midwestern Moscas, and Impastato's, IMO, today defines what Creole Italian cuisine is better than any other restaurant.

They do the same thing in Hobbs, New Mexico. So one can only hope for a rebirth of Southwestern Creole Italian establishments.

Besides the oysters mosca, I haven't seen breadcrumbs in any other dish. Your hole is getting wider and deeper.

I think it should probably be Creole Midwestern Italian. You know...a Creole version of Midwestern Italian, as opposed to Midwestern Creole Italin, a Midwestern version of Creole Italian. Or do I have that backwards?

He constantly has a hard on for Impastato's. He's probably the little squirrely dudes brother.

You're correct. Mosca's Italian was Midwestern before it was Creole, so Creole Midwestern Italian is more accurate. Thanks.

Keep at it. I'm sure one day soon the Times-Picayune dining section will hire you out of the blue to be their new food editor.

Place is a cliche bordering on being a caricature.

Its certainly not any more "essential" than Tony Angelo's. And yes I'm biased and openly admit it.

Mosca's is not in New Orleans which makes it irrelevant.

Neither is Impastato's.
