Just when you thought it was all over, it isn't. Steven Sharif (founder and former CEO of Intrepid) posted a very long post in the Ashes Discord last night.
The TL;DR from him is that the investors who came on as board members purposely withheld funds from the game so Intrepid would have to shut down. Their separate company, TFE Games Holdings LLC, would then take it over.
Sharif filed suit and now a judge in California has issued a TRO on TFE. From the judge:
