i have a wii, a 360, and a ps3; ps3 by far the best

For me....
The 360 has more of my style of games, and I love Xbox Live Arcade. I don't like the PS3 controllers, I much rather the 360 controllers.
Blu Ray is not a real selling point for me as far as the PS3 goes because I just rent and download HD movies from XBox Live and I don't ever have to go to the store.
It gets a little old hearing...
"PS3 has Blu Ray" -- Blu Ray is not a selling point for me, see above
"PS3 has free online" -- I don't mind paying for what I think is a better service. If that $4.16 per month breaks your budget, then I say perhaps you shouldn't be buying a game machine anyway.
"RROD LOL" -- If you set your machine up with adequate ventilation, it's not an issue. It's also not an issue on the new machines so get over yourself. Was it an issue initially ? Absolutely it was. It's not anymore.
"PS3 is much more powerful" -- In theory, it does have more raw processing power, but in practice it has not shown to be any more powerful than the 360. Some games look and play better on the 360 and some games look and play better on the PS3. Developers will not spend the extra time and money it takes to possibly make a game look better on the PS3, especially since it is such a bitch to program for.

I am a bit jealous that PS3's have Blue Ray and free online. But that is about it.

Gonna have to call bull on this one lol.
Adequate ventilation didn't prevent it. If that were the case, gee, why would Microsoft extend the warranty JUST for the red rings for 3 additional years?
If it's ventilation causing it, it's a user problem, thus it's your fault and you wouldn't get a free replacement.
Also most of your opinions are presented as facts, which they aren't.

There is no doubt that MS messed up and the 360 had an unusually high and unacceptable failure rate. That has changed since the new 45nm chipset came along.

That's quite possible, after having to publicly admit failure and losing money by extending the warranty, it would be foolish for them not to fix it.
But it was 90% M$ error and 10% bad luck that caused it. No amount of ventilation or putting your 360 in a bulletproof popemobile was going to prevent it.

how is that not a selling point?? Blue ray is the future of watching movies in HD. it won the war over what xbox was trying to push.
thats a lame arse excuse to not like sony

In his defense, I've read a lot of articles saying the average Joe can't really see a noticeable difference between DVD and High Def.
Also, unlike when DVDs replaced VHS, Blu Ray and DVD are coexisting. So what's the point buying practically the same movie in "high def" when you can just get a regular DVD.

You did not see my earlier post.
I rent HD movies from X Box live, so that renders the Blu Ray a non selling point for me.
Blu Ray is not the future of watching movies in HD. Downloading HD movies and watching them or even streaming them is the future.

I never said I don't like Sony. I said Blu Ray on the PS3 is not a selling point for me.
If Microsoft comes out with a reasonably priced add on Blu Ray drive for the 360, then I would probably go buy it. I won't buy a whole new machine for Blu Ray though.
What will be interesting is if the rumors are true and MS licenses the 360 hardware, so say... Samsung could build a Blu Ray player that also plays 360 games.

You know, that could be debatable. With my BR player I can see a signigant difference in some movies I have watched in regular DVD format, while others not so much. I can tell between a regular DVD and BR/HD movie just because of the 'crispness' of it. I think like you said if the average joe walked in, it would difficult to tell if it was HD/BR or DVD.

I think this is due to older movies not being shot in HD to begin with.
Newer movies, you can tell a big difference.

There's the article I go the info from.
I guess it has to do with needing the optimized setup to benefit from the HD improvement. Just like your car will never really get the sticker MPG, because you'll never be driving in ideal road test conditions.

I love how everyone talks about the touchy 360 owners. There are more whiny PS3 owners on here right now.
