For you IT professionals... Did you guys take any Linux courses? I am taking 2 and honestly.. I am absolutely not interested in them at all.. I am basically going through the motions and doing what I have to do to make an A in these classes but don't seem to really be retaining any knowledge.. Just wonderin' if this is a critical topic in the working world.

Nice. I'm networking too, but for now am a server engineer. Haha, yeh the A+ was stupid easy except for the MSDOS bullshite. I kept thinking during those questions, "WTF, I wasn't even alive when people used this shite, how am I to know?"
if you did well on the A+ you'll destroy the Net+. I got it too and am now working on a few Cisco certs the companiny is funding.
you have any other previous experience in the field as far as your resume goes? internships?
you'll find out pretty quick that they don't really give a shite about GPA and how brilliant you are come hiring time, but really your work experience and how well you can communicate with people. being down to earth and social is huge for the big companies, they don't want the uber computer geeks.

ummm, for the company i work for our competitors(lulz) it's not huge by any means. don't get me wrong, we have hundreds of high powered linux computers that are used for high end graphics and processing, but most of the Linux folks here didn't get hired for that and picked it up along the way. not difficult shite and not something you necessarily need to specialize in.

AJF is a high school/little league baseball IRL friend of mine
