Yeah, Arthur doesn’t like the south.
There’s a side mission where you find out about someone’s path and Arthur show. More emotion in that than he has all game.

With Odyssey and Red Dead coming out approximately 2 weeks apart...this has been the best gaming month for me since last year.
I am swamped till 2019

That would drive me nuts. You can get new controllers at Walmart for $46. If you are really on a budget they have wired ones for $26.

There's a controls setting that you need to change from "tap to run" to "toggle to run". This is a big complaint across the web - I found it helped.
Thanks, that fixes one of my major complaints. Was getting so tired of just holding and tapping A all the time.

Back at work on Monday and miserable.
Side note how are you all playing with subtitles? Had mine on at first but then it broke immersion so I turned them off, much better

I had them on at first but turned it off for the same reason. Most of the dialogue is pretty clear, and unlike the Witcher, every townsperson doesn’t talk at you at the same exact time so it’s easy to make out who’s saying what.

I hope I get to shoot Michah. Hate that jabroni.

This game is all I can think about at work. And all I want to do is hunt, fish and rob people.

Do you recommend playing RDR1 first or can you just pick up RDR2 and play? Going to buy but wasn't sure if I should play 1 first or not.

You will miss out on some easter eggs but that's about it.
Would just recommend buying this game...it's insanely immersive. Really some of the easter eggs / weird items are the only thing that I have found sort of goofy and annoying. Like I found a Viking helmet that you can wear around? Kind of dumb.

SPOILER not related to the actual storyline, more of an Easter Egg
I found Bonnie McFarlane’s late husband washed ashore next to his boat. Went to loot him and he took one last breath and died. On him was a letter he had written to Bonnie. Pretty cool.

was that something you went looking for, or just stumbled across?

Stumbled upon. As far as I know the letter doesn't lead to anything. Just an easter egg.

I never played RDR1 and am enjoying the hell out of RDR2.

Went and found that white arabian horse in the north. It's the baddest horse you can get this early in the game. Surprised myself and only got thrown off once before I broke it.
CSB. We had a white arabian when I was a kid so I named it what our horses name was. Hope I don't manage to get it killed.

Me too. Stumbled across the dinosaur bone lady and running all over the map finding dinosaur bones is my latest task. And I stumbled across what appears to be a serial killer note under a bridge but haven't looked further into it.

I've been doing the same, keep refreshing looking for updates.
It seems like most folks here are still on the first couple of chapters, can't wait for everyone to start to progress.

Like others have said, you don't need to play it to get it but it helps to understand the characters and backstory a little more.
