Apologies, I meant menu in the traditional sense. I.E. you don’t order but when you show up to a feast, they give you a menu as a status symbol showing you all the fancy food you’ve eaten.

What you see before you is roasted meats, venison, pork, beef, lobsters, eels, sweet and savory pies, desserts that seem almost entirely made of sugar, for , squash, pumpkin, Caribbean fruits and about everything else you can imagine.

Whale can’t wait anymore. He dives in, eating everything within reach. Slowly, the rest of you join him, taking your fill.

Afterwards, the man takes you to the smoke room. He offers your group the finest cigars and sits in front of you. You notice you could see through him to the green flame behind.

He is a ghost.

“What sort of men are you,” he asks

I'm honest with him. "We're pirates. Our former captain shot me, so I killed him, and now we're looking for a new base of operations. We stopped at this aisle thinking we may be able to assist the villagers here in exchange for supplies so we can continue our journey."

The gentleman smiles. You almost see a twinkle of fire in his eye.

“Good. You are desperate men. Men who deserve death if not for the use they can serve and you can serve me great benefit.”

Your knees quake and your companions fall to the ground.

“I have use for men like you. You see, the circumstances on the island are not ideal,”

He gestures to the now obviously ghostly serving staff that wait at attention in the room.

He explains that a great earthquake happened several days ago that devastated the island. Thousands were killed and most returned from the dead.

You realize this is the blight that had wrecked the city.

He elegantly speaks of the pride of his plantation and what it has grown to be in the last 60 years.

“And that is a legacy that will never die as I have. But that legacy will not continue if that city dies. You must open up the port so that my trading empire can continue to grow. Do this for me and I will see you depart wealthy men.”
