for as important as teamwork is in BF, they do the most shitty job of making it possible
you can't squad up before a game, or on bf3, you could play with at most 3 friends....so if you joined a game, you had to join a near empty server and let your additional friends join
on bf3, even when you squadded up pregame, it had no problems putting everyone on separate squads/teams
chat sucked on bf3 for the longest, but they finally fixed that after a few MONTHS
bf4, you are really just stabbing in the dark when you try to play with a friend.....you might be able to join their game, you might be able to get on their particular team, etc., etc.
havent even looked to see if there is a team chat option on bf4, because i havent got to play with more than 1 or 2 of you
on the other hand, COD is a game that can be won/lost by a couple of individuals, yet they make playing with a big group of friends almost seamless
the fricking irony

As cool as the squad setup is, I'm sure that's what's behind the party headaches with this game, but I don't understand why it's such a hard fix. I mean, if you have a group of 7 friends and you join a server, I can't imagine splitting you in to two squads and adding a random is all that different then that same group joining a COD match and adding a random there.
Not sure how it works on console, but I never understood why BF3 didn't have any kind of pre-game lobby. Some place where you can sort all of that out.

at least bf3 had some sort of semblance of a pregame lobby, as opposed to the point, shoot and hope of bf4
