Yep, I think 25 points. But the person has to get killed while he's still spotted.

@BT, yeah it spots them on the mini map for your team for a few seconds.

They show up for the entire team on the screen and on their radar for so many seconds

I think it helps your pilots a lot to spot other air vehicles, too. I always try to do that.

What's different now, too, is Commander mode. Commanders can place UAV's around certain areas for a few seconds, too. Like Zavod 311, I played Commander and kept my UAV's around the middle to help my team.

You have to be level 10 to play commander. Just go to the pause menu, then Team Setup, then look at the top and tab over to Commander. If it's open, you can choose to play as a Commander. The only bad thing is if you decide you don't want to be Commander anymore, it makes you exit the server.
Commander isn't really glorious, either. You get lots of UAV spot points and if your team controls the Cruise Missile control flag, it can get a little fun. But Commander is kind of not rewarding for the Commander, but helps big time for the team.
ETA: By Cruise Missile control flag, I mean it's usually the central flag in conquest. Each map might be different. On Zavod 311, the C flag on PS3 controlled the Cruise Missile for the Commander. If your team controlled it, your Commander had access to Cruise Missiles. On other maps, that might be the AC130 gunship or something else...get it?
