I think I am done with The Division.

The insanely slowed progression, RNG on top of RNG on top of DZ grind fest just really turns me off.

Sad because the game has amazing bones.

Gonna give DCUO a shot, then maybe Final Fantasy 14 if that doesn't hold my interest.

Is this game worth buying? Is it fun and gun or more strategic? I've read through a ton of the posts on here and it seems to be a mixed bag. Also, are you able to get on and play a couple hours every now and then, or is it more involved to rank up and acquire weapons, etc?

It is FUN AS HELL for the first 30-40 hours before the grind kicks in. Then it just crawls along with no real aim.

It probably has the most "potential" of any 3rd person shooter I've played in a long arse time, but the devs have to figure out a plan moving forward for its endgame.

I think it's worth getting just for the first 30 hours and the potential for good DLC.

This is spot on. I will tell anyone to buy it and play til their heart is content because it is a spectacular game. Once you get into the sparse end game content, it is repetitive and lacks any real progression path.

Game is the tits. Like everyone has said, lots of stuff to do until you max out the story mode. I play DZ like a crack head though. I love it. Going rogue and surviving the hunts is addictive. Also hunting rogues with random people is a lot of fun as well.

This is my problem. I do not like the DZ. I'd rather run missions over and over than run in circles in the DZ.

I wish they made progression possible and equal in both the DZ and the PVE content.

Destiny did it well. Not perfect, but very well. You did not HAVE to be in a PVP situation to progress to the top.

I'm going to take an extended break from the game, probably up until the DLC.

Giving DCUO a shot tonight

I'm only 21 right now, but when I played the beat, DZ was the best part. Different strokes, perhaps.

I would play the DZ if they made it actually have a point. Right now it is a giant wall to better gear with an insufferable grind via xp and material gathering.

Run in circles, kills stuff, go rogue, hunt rogues, hide from rogues, get ganked. Repeat until you hate yourself.

If there were bounties, kill orders, hell ANYTHING to make it feel organic or have any purpose, I'd be good with playing it.

To me the DZ is another example of a great idea with terrible execution, just like a lot of The Division

Not to mention, half of the rouges are basically trolls camping entrances and safe houses for a numbers advantage. I've only been killed 2-3 times by rogues "from the front". Every other time has been upon entering the DZ, getting shotgunned in the back while fighting a mob, or camping extraction sites (which I have less of a problem with).

I agree with all of the above mentioned, once you hit level 30 and complete FL the game really seems to lose a sense of direction on what to do next. I haven't gotten gear worth a shite from DZ or Challenging missions that warrants me running them repeatedly.

I was doing the daily missions, but have lost interest in that too. The game has a lot of potential, but I feel like they forced it out after all of the delays and we are currently playing a game that needed a few more months of testing and improvements.

So I finished the missions in Brooklyn and it keeps telling me I cannot access Manhattan. Is this because I downloaded the game instead of buying the disc? Also, how do you play with others and not run missions? Pretty cool game so far, but I beat the first missions pretty quickly.

Game was fun for 40 hours or so. I hate repetitive grinds and as others have said, that's all you do once you max level. Pretty much every enemy is a black dude in a red hoodie.

Bringing mine for a trade-in tomorrow. Getting that store credit built up for when they allow pre-orders for Battlefield 1944.

I'm debating doing this and going all in on DCUO, FFXIV, or Elder Scrolls online to get my fix.

At least those games have support

To make the post about the division:

The reason I am done is that I have grinded probably 25+ hours and not received one upgrade. Not even in the slightest. Hard mode incursion runs (5) have yielded not one thing better than what I have. There is no reason to craft because I can't buy any blueprints better than what I have (all set gear 214-192 GS) because I refuse to put 25 bazillion hours into the DZ which I don't like. Thus I am stuck. All I hope for is a weapon upgrade in the Base on Fridays. If it appears to be an upgrade, I'll go grind the credits only to get it and then quit again for a week or more until another possible upgrade surfaces.

Really don't want to play a game that does things this way.

I fricked around with my gear and came up with a 3 striker 2 Sentry setup with max armor, 75k health and 23k skillpower.

Pretty sick.

And,yeah this game is dead until a patch. Really the only thing to do is go rogue or hunt rogues in the dz. Which can be fun.

We went manhunt once and had 12 people after us. Didn't survive.

Even then, the only rewards I get are dz funds which afford me new bps which allow me to blow mats to craft something that may not be an upgrade, dz keys to get mats, and xp which I don't need.

I did get a weapon camo out of a supply drop. Snakeskin Brown.

Considering putting a team together to try challenging FL

Penalties for going rogue needs to be fixed. They also need to prevent rogues from running all over the damn map. Once you go rogue you should be boxed into a two zone radius.

Have completed a number of manhunts. Best part of the game is going on a manhunt with a team and mowing down agents.

Yeah. It is fun. Thrilling to survive that 5m countdown.

Need a guy with max pulse for full crit. And then using supers and two turrets on each side for the shotgunners with pulse running continuously.

I'm down to give it a go.

I would want to use the left balcony strategy, and not the pit strat, for CM

This is xb1 btw.

The left balcony strategy allows me to use Smart Cover. And then I could use SC when planting the bomb
