I mean it is kind of a big deal. He was a top 3-4 draw for LIV regardless of ranking and was one of the two guys that won a major while at LIV. Yea he didn't play great last year but he was a headliner for them.
I know he was one of the reasons I would occasionally tune in.

A deterent for leaving the PGA tour in the first place. The other poster is saying the PGA doesn't want players to be able to leave for LIV for a big 1 year payday and then expect the PGA to have open arms the following year.
Why did the SEC have a 1 year sit rule for transferring players within the conference for so long?
A deterent.
