Country Clubs here are expensive as frick and most have an initiation fee that is $10-$20k or even more.
Any hidden gems I don’t know about that have a reasonable membership fee? I live in the city btw but would be willing to drive 30-45 mins for the right course

Most places are full after COVID and prices are up because of it. You’re in Dallas 10-20 for a fully private club within 45 min of downtown doesn’t seem unreasonable.

There's a list a saw online that has all the local clubs. Some of them are reasonable if you're going out 2/3 times a week to play. I ran the math I actually spend more than I would if I were a member.
You can also get one at Bear Creek and Cedar Springs and you get discount rates. So there's cheaper routes.

Hurricane Creek fits the bill, but it's in BFE (Anna).
ETA: Brookhaven CC is a clubcorp course in Farmers Branch. Tons of members and family oriented. I think pricing is reasonable.
