This is incorrect. Once the invitations are sent out, participants can play with whomever they want. You can't just show up. It has to be scheduled and doesn't require a member.

In Players case, he is no longer a participant in the Masters. These advanced scouting trips are for current participants only.

Most guess it's around 40k a year which is extremely cheap given the course and history.

That's definitely cheap for being a top 3 club, but it's not like you get free reign as a member. The course is shutdown for most of the year and if you play more than a handful of times when it is open for play, you get a letter telling you to stop

Maybe it's slightly different for the in-town members, but I think the unwritten rule for out of towners is that you can play it a few times a season but ANGC isn't the place for you to getting a quick 9 in to sharpen up your game after work or to go out with your foursome every Saturday morning.

Everything I have read said even tiger woods during his prime 3 weeks before the tournament would need a member if he brought a single guest

So even as a ful participant player would need a member for his grandsons to ever play with him

ETA: The famous round he played with Smoltz the Member picked up Smoltz in his helicopter to go play with Tiger

Tiger and Charlie’s round they took a picture with the member as well

Unless it's changed in the last 8 years, what you read is wrong.

Tiger played with Smoltz over 20 years ago and needed a member to bring a guest

Also participants when they play can’t bring their caddie and must use a course caddie as well
