So you’ve bought into the notion that the national championship can only be decided in 4 states.
80% of the players on Tour live in Florida, Texas, and Arizona. They can play the US Open in those states, too.

I like that Bethpage is public and there’s history. I added Medinah too just to get something go in the Midwest too.

AZ in summer is a no go unless there is a workable US Open course around Sedona

It's fine as a PGA, but I don't think it's a US Open Course, same as Congressional and Medinah, IMO.
Out of those 3, I'd pick Medinah

Midwest needs a tier 1 location. Oak Hill, Whistling, Olympia, wherever.

Oak Hill is in Rochester New York.
I think they just redid Oakland Hills, maybe there is an option. I'd be fine with Erin Hills or Whistling really every 10 years or so, but they would definitely be a level below the other courses as far as history and prestige.

Erin Hills is pretty new to hosting right? I wouldn’t mind seeing it for PGA but not sure it deserves the US Open rotation if they’re only keeping it to 10 courses.

Doubt they have as many as 10. For sure you're looking at:
Pebble
Winged Foot
Oakmont
Pinehurst
Shinny
LACC may be added if they show well in '23, but probably a sprinkling of Country Club/Torrey/etc besides the ones I listed.
