Every player in the field with PGA Tour status is significantly better at golf than Tony. It will be an incredible accomplishment to tie any of them after 36 holes.

I don’t believe the average Joe knows how skilled most pro golfers are.
Tony could probably whip up on most golfers on this board but he will struggle against pros that have been playing high level golf since their junior days.
Tony would not be a top 10 favorite for the Texas Am or Texas mid am.
Tony would be hard pressed to make top 20 in the Southern am or top 30 in the western am.
There are D1 college golfers in Oklahoma and Texas that would waste Tony in a 36 hole collegiate event.
I doubt Tony could crack top 10 at an AJGA invitational event.

i heard a rumor that there are professional golfers that would not play members of Augusta National because they would get beat soundly.

That's a facet of ANGC and isn't representative of every course, though.
I doubt institutional knowledge is as important at this course as it is at ANGC.

I think he finished close to dead last in the Western Am a couple years ago.
He’s a solid player, and could play well enough to come close to the cut line. But over 4 days, even in a weaker field at his home course I think he would clearly have the worst score.

T 148 Thursday evening
Josh Scobee is the better former NFLer trying to make it at golf.

The only thing Tony has going for him this week is that Smylie is also playing.
