What was with Rory and his spirit fingers celebration.

That was a very odd cheerleader celebration after the hole out from bunker on 18.

I kinda agree it was a little awkward, but I think he was just pumped up and knew that was to tie the lowest round ever at the Masters. And he probably knew it locked down lone 2nd place which ended up worth an extra $800k.

I feel like he was trying to throw his club and it kind of slipped out of his hands? I agree it looked weird and it was one of the weakest celebratory club tosses I’ve ever seen.
Made me think that Rory is NOT good at other sports

It looks like he wanted to back-handed fling his club but instead he just dropped it at the last minute.
Amazing raw emotion there.

Rory's always been kind of a goober with his celebrations. Go back and look when he holed that fairway shot at the Tour Championship a few years ago. He did this weird clap and shoulder shake thing.

If that is the case, he needs to study the history a bit better... As do you.
On topic... About like Mickelson's 'leap' when he won...

let's see, holes out to get to -7 and in second place alone. I believe SS had 5 more holes to play. I'd be pumped too if that hole out gave me a better chance of obtaining the career grand slam. Pure joy is what I saw. Not going to pick out how someone celebrates in that exact moment. It was awesome to watch.
