Professional golf is about consistency, but to get status you have to play your arse off one week at Q school. It doesn't really reconcile, but I'm not sure there's a better way to do it.

These players are so good that it doesn't look like they are really shooting what they are shooting. I have played with several pros and I was constantly shocked when we added it up after the round. I would have guessed they 69-70 when in reality it was 65.

When I was young I got to play with Perry Moss a good bit, it was just ridiculous how good a ball striker he was.

There are other ways, Korn Ferry, playing in, sponsors exemptions and win money etc.

You get KFT status from Q school, or top 5 in Latino America or Canada, which you have to get on primarily through Q school.

My wife's uncle has buddies on the lower tours that play with him in Raleigh. He said these guys are about as good as the main tour players, they just don't have the mental part down yet. When you have the mechanics down, the mental part of the game becomes the challenge.
I played with a college player from Dartmouth once at Caledonia in Myrtle. He was with his dad who wasn't playing, just watching and coaching. The dude striped EVERY shot right where he wanted and never more than 2 putted.
It's amazing how consistent really talented golfers are. I on the other hand, will cost myself at least 8 strokes on crappy swings per round.
