Met my bro halfway between Austin and Houston at giddings municipal golf course. Man it’s a tremendous goat ranch we drank a shite load of beer, let the driver rip and hit gap wedges from wherever it ended up. Nobody out there and had a blast. Made me wonder what other goat ranches are favorites of the golf board.

I have yet to have the goat ranch experience since moving to Texas almost 5 years ago now and now want to play there next time passing through.

Bayou Barriere

Used to go play there years ago, and would play during the Belle Chase air show. Those planes would make incredible turns over the course and then hit the throttle to get back to the show center on their cue.

OakLake in Clinton, haven’t played it in several years but it had great greens and a lot of character if I remember it.

It’s been gone for 15+ years but Pine Shadows in Lake Charles was awesome. Very little grass on the golf course all summer, postage stamp greens that were surprisingly fast.

Had a great weekend dogfight they let me start playing in when I turned 16.

Dead as in closed or dead as in bad shape? I played it one time several years ago and for the price enjoyed it. You certainly don't feel like youre at the beach, but it was in more than decent shape when I played it
