Prolly cause they hate me. I could say the sky is blue and get 50 downvotes so since I said conjugate it the way and you agreed, you get auto dv from the Oters who can’t handle truth

The video below is exactly how I do swings. I prefer keeping the KB nice and tight to my body on the way up. You get more shoulder and forearm work by doing so.

I'm convinced 98% of this forum doesn't know what the hell they are doing and are wasting their time in a gym.

why do you think I tell everyone to find a plan already programmed for them and stick to it.

I can say there are a lot of really knowledgeable guys here but also a ton of guys who have no clue and especially the guys not posting.

and conjugate/westside can get confusing for many people so that already brings about negative feelings, on top of that saying Olympic lifting is not fast enough in 90% of cases to create sufficient rate of force development change on the motor units really pisses people off

Even if someone doesn’t agree with conjugate training, at least have an understanding that the weight room is to build on the general physical attributes for your given sport which of course is gpp. Which is then a part of conjugate training!

You as well as I know The Russians were doing this before Louie Simmons came around.

yea Louie will just tell you he took the Russian system

and yes the weight room is pretty much GPP and is about force but mingo is right, there are exercises that provide carry over and being just a sagittal plane monster only goes so far. thats why things like med ball throws can work so well and why things like water bags learning to use co-contractions work so well.

Thats why testing is so important and Louie would say that all the time. You have to test and see if its carrying over. Things like stance, exercises selection, plane of motion, identifying weaknesses all matter.

if it was only about gpp we would just have athletes work only slow lifts and onyl focus on getting stronger and only the weight on the bar would matter.....but it dont work like that.

Oh I agree, I suppose I view those as general and not necessarily selective considering you have to train in all 3 planes of motion.

On another note, I just started using the sika app and their program becoming a horse, I like it so far. Hopefully it’ll get me stronger since I just started training jiu jitsu again after a 8-9 month layoff
