Youtube example
I basically want to recreate a lot of what this guy did using a Rogue rack and deadlift platform. The mirrors and AC unit are my primary concern.
It appears to me he attaches wooden anchors to the wall and builds a box where the mirror will attach to the plywood.
Would you attach the J channel to the bottom of that plywood, and use a special adhesive to attach the mirro to the plywood?
Then finally hang the box with mirror on the mounting points on the wall?

use mirror mastic to attach mirror to plywood. I didn't watch to see if there was a closeup of the mirror but it looked like he framed around it which would give it the support it needs while the glue dries. But yes in a normal situation you would use a jmold at the bottom just like you see in a normal gym.

I did a big one above a fireplace years ago, j-channel in the studs, and then we bought a pre-sized frame that stuck on the mirror with 2-sided tape. I was skeptical but it never showed any signs of sagging or separating.
