Hold up, you took an AIDS test because of sinus issues? I swear I'm not being a dick but this just made my morning.

When I was a little kid there was this guy that sang with my mom in the church choir and I think he cut hair for a living. I always wondered why he wasn’t married and hung out with these old ladies. And then they said he died of a fungus that spread from his nose to his brain

The dots didn’t connect in my head til years later

We had that, and it developed into a cough, right around November/December. One of the ladies at work wasn't feeling good, and a week or so later I caught it. I would have the sinus pressure during the day, and whenever I would lie down at night, the coughing would start. Seems like it lasted for weeks. I went to an outpatient clinic, and they put me on antibiotics and steroids, and an inhaler. Said it probably started viral and then turned into bronchitis, that is what the inhaler was for.

When I was finally starting to feel normal again, my wife started feeling sick. I thought it was the same thing I had, until I caught that from her. Felt more like flu than what I previously had. She went to the doctor, and tested negative for flu/strep/covid, same thing they told me when I had gone a few weeks prior. So we spent New Year's with flu like symptoms. Thankfully that one didn't take hold quite as long, but whatever this is, it doesn't just come and go like the usual seasonal cold. Medicines really didn't touch it either.

That’s the crazy thing. I haven’t had any flu like symptoms

No fever, no aches, no coughing, no mucus, no phlegm, nothing… just sinus trouble for over a month.

My first round wasn't so bad except for the stuffy nose and excessive coughing. It was over a month. Even with the antibiotics and steroids. Then when my wife went, they gave her a steroid shot and an antibiotic shot, as well as the steroid pills and antibiotics.

Poor lady at work ended up in the hospital with some sort of abscess and had to get IV antibiotics. Hers was sinusitis, an ear infection, and the abscess was in between and making her face swollen. Then she broke out in shingles. Maybe I was just telling myself the meds didn't do anything, but maybe it prevented it from spreading to my ears and all that.

Minor (and possibly temporary) update:

Said frick it and took the same regimen I did when I had covid. Took some vitamin C and some zinc, along with chugging a liquid IV, and 45 minutes later, I feel a lot better

I completely expect this to be temporary. I’ll check back in in the morning

If it works for me, maybe it’ll help another one of y’all in here who are also struggling

I take vitamin c and zinc daily. It doesn't make a difference with this stuff.
