Requested access to your drive.

I'm finishing grad school soon and considering joining the military after. Also used to be in great shape and slacked off because of school and need to get back in shape, regardless of whether I join up or not.

Thanks for posting that.

What are some non running ways of training for the apft run? Currently injured due to stress fractures (sucks balls).

Outside of swimming, could do just the handles on the air bike, shite below a heavy bag and b throw punches and similar items.

These can increase lung capacity but they will not prepare the legs for the run. Only running and the like can do that.

I wasn't former military, just college degree and some le experience. I finished at the top of the class, it's certainly doable. You just have to know what you are getting into and have the right mindset. If you need any advice let me know and I'll post an email

I’m not really sure what to even ask. A good friend of mine is a former police officer and SWAT/Narcotics agent. He has been talking to me about what he did and what I could likely expect. We talk about the day to day grind, family life as a cop, the risks and all that. I’m just hoping I’m not the Private Pyle of the academy.

BRPD looks a lot like Sealfit. Saw the videos on YouTube and recognized it immediately. The problem is most don’t maintain it after the academy.

Been in training for the past 4 months and haven’t posted a ton.

Just getting back on my regular shite today.

Squat day: worked up to heavy set of 5@ 315
5 sets of 5
Front squat: 3 sets of 5 @ 265
2 mile run at 7:45-8:00 pace

I normally focus on a variation of power, accessory/flexibility, and endurance. The ‘Meat’ of my sessions is designed around power lifting (squat, bench, dead, shoulder press) and I throw in movements to compliment each, trying to vary in sets/reps. I try to end every day with a 1-2 mile run at that pace and will occasionally do a 3-4-5 miler at a faster pace.

Don’t know why I felt the need to type all that out. Too much pre workout earlier I guess.
