We are doing a no restaurants/takeout all of January. Only drinking one day a week (usually Saturday). And limiting junk food, no chips, etc.
I thought I was going to miss it, but honestly we don’t, getting back into cooking all of our meals has been awesome. Any of y’all ever done something like this? Thinking we may just do this forever and only go out to eat on special occasions like we did growing up. We hardly ever went to restaurants and instead spent time at home cooking with family.
Reading all the shite they put in the foods has made this an even easier transition, although the kids do miss chick fil a

Doing similar by virtue of Dry January morphing into something else.
Cooking introduces more whole foods to the equation, reduces the processed/artificial crap and added sugar, makes one feel better overall. Not to mention cost effective.
General population would be better off with a common sense nutritional approach.

That’s the best part. We go shopping on Sunday for the entire week and easily save 3-4 hundred on takeout and restaurants. That shite adds up quick. Instead of takeout twice a week, we’re going to all go to a nicer restaurant once a month with the kids

Yep! It's a gamechanger. I'm sure you feel better too, physically.
If we go out to eat nowadays it's for sashimi. Nice and clean.

The hubby & I went from: eating out for lunch on Sat & Sun
to: eating out for lunch on Sat only
to: not eating out at all unless it's for a particular occasion (family or anniversary). We do absolutely ZERO fast food. You should love it!
Overall, I just can't stand the substandard ingredients at restaurants. Plus, I cook like a chef anyway

Unless we're on vacation we never eat out. Even then I try and cook as much as possible. It's expensive and unhealthy.
