Has anyone here tried it to lower LDL?

Does it work or is it a waste of money?

It works but I wouldn’t take it. The active ingredient is identical to lovastatin so you would be taking a statin with same side effects.People, that want to avoid statins and take RRY are just fooling themselves.
Biggest danger is that some brands the doses aren’t standardized like a prescription statin.Potential to damage liver.

I’ve asked this question before and I think 777 said that the Ref Yeast Rice was neutered of the helpful ingredients and essentially it’s a waste of money at this point.

Good catch.

Red yeast rice contains compounds similar to statin drugs, including monacolin K, which is identical to lovastatin.

I looked into RYR a while back but after reading about the potential side effects, I passed on it.

Here is a site that goes further into RYR: LINK

Last check up, my LDLs were just a little over normal.
Cardiologist prescribed 10mg of statins.

Crap made just about every muscle and bone in my body ache. I felt like I had been hit by a Mack Truck.
I had brain fog and my lower back was hurting.
I quit taking it and it took about a month before that junk cleared out of my system.

To the OP, unless you have Familial Hypercholesterolemia (FH),
try some exercises, cut out the sugar, get rid of the ultra-processed foods, reduce or quit alcohol consumption.

Try mixing flax seed meal in with a morning smoothie, eat broccoli, cauliflower, almonds, drink real lemon juice with water...

There is tons of cardiologists on youtube that can give advice on cholesterol without throwing a pill at the issue.

Do your own research and find what works best for you.

BTW, I am not a medical professional, nutritionist so take this for what its worth.
