When did you plateau?

I was trying to get healthier and lose weight, then I started running and light strength training, lost 30lbs in 3.5mos. Then I plateaued and have about 15lbs of peskier fat to lose.
Then I focused on strength training, gained a lot of strength very fast. Then I plateaued. Much more difficult to get to personal bests.
What things did you do to get over a) the weight loss hurdle; and/or b) the strength gaining hurdle?

a) the weight loss hurdle
Cut back on running, do something different like puke on a rower.

b) the strength gaining hurdle
Do less cardio, eat more protein.

They say diet is about 80% of it, and it is hard to outwork. Figure out a caloric deficit and focus on high protein foods, staying under your calories for the day. You'll end up gaining strength and losing fat, although the scale may play tricks on you at times.
I've told this here before, but I was around 190-195 three years ago, went on a crazy diet with my wife and lost 40 lbs. Slowly gained back about 15 lbs since I felt weak and lost too much. I hovered around 165 for about a year, focusing on cardio and some light weights. About a year and a half ago, I went after it with weights. I've gained about 15 lbs back, and am sitting around 180 lbs now, but feel so much better and healthier at 180 and strong than I did at just 190 and weak.

I'm at a point where I want to gain weight/put on muscle. I've definitely hit a wall on gaining strength. I play basketball hard for about an hour and a half every week day. Maybe I need to cut back on all of that. I've been focusing on a heavy protein diet for about 3 months now and nothing much has changed.

I’ve always wanted to be able to strict OH press my weight. I’ve gotten to 155# weighing 180#, and it seems it doesn’t matter what I try, I just can’t get beyond that. So frustrating
