about the Cleggs cocktail

On paper, the recipe suggested using 1-2 gallons of water for the mixture. I went ahead and did double the recipe with 2 gallons of water in my 2 gallon sprayer. I've noticed the weeds that we couldn't get rid of finally starting dying off this week and grass looks fine as well.
Do yall think I'm okay with this? Should I be worried about any future long term damage to my yard? I just found it weird that the recipe would suggest that I double up on diluting the cocktail.

The mixture is for only 1000 sq ft. If you have more area to cover, you will need to take that into account. You can't just make the 1 gallon mixture, spray it over a 4000 sq ft yard, and expect it to do anything.
1oz Weed Free Zone per 1000 sq ft
8.6oz Atrazine per 1000 sq ft
2 tsp Spreadsticker per 1000 sq ft (Although I'm not sure if you need to multiply this by area of yard or volume of the sprayer. Maybe someone else can clear this up.)
