What is the best way to deter armadillos from tearing up your lawn and not harm other pets?

Also, what they are digging for are worms and grubs. If you put out a shitload of insecticide to eliminate all life under your soil, the armadillos will look elsewhere. But that's not a good long term strategy because worms are good for your soil.
